Lawyers need insurance. Bars need more.

Like everyone lawyers make mistakes that sometimes cost their clients lots of money. I am currently suing two lawyers who are not insured and collection of a judgment will be problematic. Alabama requires drivers to have automobile insurance to protect the public. We should require that lawyers have insurance as well.

Unlike lawyers, bars are required to have $100,000 in insurance. That is not nearly enough to curb over-serving drunks who then drive and kill/injure innocent people. Bars be required to maintain at least $1,000,000 in liability insurance.
